Adopt a Clownfish

Clownfish have very unique homes! These fish live among the tentacles of venomous anemones and can do so because they have a mucus coating that covers their bodies and protects them from the anemone’s painful sting. The two creatures have formed a symbiotic relationship, where the clownfish gains protection from predators, and the anemone may benefit as clownfish eats its parasites and increases water circulation by swimming about.
Unfortunately, anemones are vulnerable to the effects of a warming ocean, which in turn puts clownfish at risk of losing their homes. That is why Oceana campaigns against drivers of climate change like dirty offshore drilling and promotes the adoption of renewable sources of energy such as offshore wind.
When you make a symbolic adoption, your donation helps power litigation and grassroots advocacy to win policy victories that prevent the expansion of offshore drilling and that promote the development of clean offshore wind energy.
